My computer is giving me an error that my printer is out of paper and it is not. It has done this with three different printers.

2017-03-05T00:44:33+00:00 I have the same problem and the drivers are up to date. Every time my printer has an issue, Windows 10 will not clear the error when the error has been resolved...and it will NOT print, until the error is cleared. How about a suggestion that fixes the problem???
Windows 10 has been out for quite some time now and it can't handle a simple printer problem??? Wish we were back to the NT days when Microsoft software actually worked!!!!!

2017-02-12T19:56:52+00:00 I confirm restarting the service is a correct solution. Accepted answer "disable bi-directional" is not a good final solution, this is a useful feature.

Bi-Directional is Back-and-forth (two-way) communication. Meaning not only can you send documents to the printer (basic functionality) but the printer can send you data back, such as ink levels, Advanced Print Job Status, paper tray capacity and paper levels, when the page has finished printing, etc.
You find it on the Ports tab of your printer's properties:

2016-07-15T00:34:53+00:00 If this is affecting a recent Laserjet Pro series using WSD port instead of std TCP/IP port, over a network and installed to a print server, do this:
On server > admin tools > prnt management > printer properties > configure port > advanced > uncheck SNMP
