Can't uninstall iTunes program due to missing itunes.msi file.

I click on itunes icon error Problem with shortcut This action is only valid for products that are curently installed. First I tried searching for the file, no luck. I tried system restore. I tried "winrar" apparantly there were no files to extract. i also tried "Ccleaner" is there anything else I can do I've been trying for 48 hours!This is the  error message upon uninstalling - the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click Ok or try again or enter an alternative path to folder containing the installation package 'itunes.msi' in the box below. I ran a search and found a file browsed the path selected open and another error message saying it isnt a valid installation package for the itunes program. try to find the itunes.msi in a folder from which you can install itunes.

Windows Installer cleanup utility is no longer available for download from Microsoft. It was found to damage other components and should not be used.

With that said, it would be best to post this issue in the Apple discussion forums for assistance.

Delete all Apple products from your computer.

Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:

  1. iTunes
  2. QuickTime
  3. Apple Software Update
  4. Apple Mobile Device Support
  5. Bonjour
  6. Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)

Then download and install the latest version of iTunes for your operating system.

    I can fix anything that flies including the Space Schuttle, but give me a PC and I'm toast. Found this link and the darn thing really works after a 3 weeks of binging a dining around, NO LIE GIVE IT A TRY!!

    This trick works on Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008. We can use WMIC command not in distress only, but also in our normal days to flaunt our skills in   computer troubleshooting.

    How to: Uninstall Programs using Windows Command Prompt

    I have been into situation when you install a software on a computer, its starts freezing and you are not able to work on the computer. Suddenly the CPU usage shoots to 100% and there is nothing to do but to restart computer. Then also situation remains the same and even not able lo launch Add/Remove wizard to uninstall the newly installed software which caused all the problem. This is where our old DOS shell comes in handy. I am going to tell you how we can uninstall a program using command prompt with few simple commands.

    1. Click Start Menu.
    2. Click All Programs.
    3. Click Accessories and select Command Prompt.
    4. When the command prompt is open, type wmic and press Enter.

    1. Now type command: product get name and hit Enter. This command will populates a list of installed applications on your PC with complete name of an application.
    2. Now type: product where name=” " call uninstall and hit Enter (Note: Inside name” " you have to write the exact name of software you wish to uninstall from the populated list. For an example VMware Tools).

    Example: product where name=”VMware Tools” call uninstall

    1- I do not think ANY user is vindictive. 

    2-They probably never deleted any folder- especially if they are NOT in a home environment

    3-Reinstalling Windows to fix any malfunctioning application is definitely NOT a sound resolution.
