"Consider Replacing Your Battery" Issue in Windows 7 Professional RTM

I have Acer Aspire 7515z. I using windows 7 RTM. Now it is showing a cross icon on battery saying that "Consider replacing your battery" as my battery is giving the same performance. I disabled the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Battery Method, it vanished the icon but didn't extended my battery's life. I re-installed windows but same issue is occuring. Help me to sort out this issue. thanks

Can't even find a 7515z in the Acer list!!

It could be that the battery in the laptop is not in good condition and Windows is telling you this, so do NOT turn off the warnings..

    Just select the file, drag it to your desktop and open.

    The file doesn't have to reside in system 32 and is not showing in your browser because you are trying to open a protected system file through a browser.

    The file will work fine if you move it to desktop (whih is not a protected system file) and then double click it as normal.

    hi! i am the administrator of my laptop but i got the error msg, "The ENERGY command requires administrator privileges and must be executed from an elevated command prompt." after running c:>powercfg -energy

    please help. thanks!

    You are not logged in as admin so you can't access the command.

    Go to bottom left of desktop and press start

    Go to "all programs" and scroll down the list until you see "accessories"

    Open accessories

    The third option down is"cmnd prompt", right click it and an option panel will drop down with an option to "run as administrator"  click the run as administrator button and a new command prompt windon will pop up.

    Add the line      POWERCFG -ENERGY          

     to the command prompt as normal and your done!  :)

    I finally resolved this issue.

    Dear users, who ever is facing the "Consider Replacing Battery" Issue in windows 7, read it out .1st of all, run the command prompt with administrator privileges and in command prompt, change the destination path to C:\ and then type POWERCFG -ENERGY. It will scan ur battery status and after 1 minute, it will generate a report which will be saved in the same destination in which the command had been performedi.e C:. Open the energy report and check the battery's designed capacity and the last full charge. There will be a difference in both values as well as in the red columns (which are the warnings)it will be saying that battery has been charged below 40%. Note the last full charge reading and then perform the below given steps...this was mine figures: -

    Battery:Battery Information

    Battery ID SANYO GC86508SAT0
    Manufacturer SANYO
    Serial Number
    Chemistry Lion
    Long Term 1
    Design Capacity 44400
    Last Full Charge 30470  (it was at 11780, now see the difference by yourself)

    charge the battery completely, after that, start using laptop on battery and unplug the charger. Use the laptop until it automatically shut down itself. When it gets shutdown, On it again without plugging the charger and start using the laptop until and unless the battery is totally emptied. Then plug in the charger and  start charging battery, again perform the same steps, after that,  run the POWERCFG -ENERGY and check the last full charge reading. Perform these steps until ur last full charge crosses the 40% of the design capacity. still facing problem, then contact me on*** Email address is removed for privacy ***, cell # +(removed).

    I would suggest you to change your battery because a dead battery can harm laptop too.
