Hello,

My computer is stuggling to get internet access, I keep getting this message - Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding).  All of the other computers in my house are connected with no difficulty.  Any suggestions?

I resolved the problem.  When my router lost power, somehow the addresses got changed so the IP address of the wireless Dell computer no longer fell in the pool of addresses maintained by the router.  When I reconfigured by router and had released and renewed my IP address on the Dell computer, everything started working again.

    This is also happening with tethering for windows phone, and reconfiguring the router isn't an option there.

    I tried this while trying to connect my computer to  wifi. Same error was there.

     It solved my problem by following way.. 

    1)Use open DNS i.e. 8.8.8.8

    2)uncheck IPV6 protocol from network adepter..

    Hi Meghmala,

    I am having the same issue and all the steps you mention in your post has been followed to no success.

    How it started for me:

    Created a new Windows 10 Pro machine, configured and got access to the Internet. I cloned that setup to another identical machine. Under the device manager, all devices are installed correctly. The network card too and I can remotely connect to the newly cloned machine. But the machine fails to connect to the Internet.

    Uninstalled / installed network card drivers several time and still the same issue. All necessary services to have Internet connection are running.

    The original machine is fine and have access to the Internet. The cloned machine fails to connect with network connections functioning fine. 

    I hope you can give me some clues where to look.

    That could be your problem--"cloning" too much.   <eg>

    BTW this symptom is not what this thread is about, so I agree with the previous suggestion to open your own thread with your own details.
