Hello,

My computer is stuggling to get internet access, I keep getting this message - Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding).  All of the other computers in my house are connected with no difficulty.  Any suggestions?

I resolved the problem.  When my router lost power, somehow the addresses got changed so the IP address of the wireless Dell computer no longer fell in the pool of addresses maintained by the router.  When I reconfigured by router and had released and renewed my IP address on the Dell computer, everything started working again.

    Hello There!

    I done first method..Lets say it worked,but only for first day.

    Today the same thing is happening and i probably got short time to answer because its going to ''crash'' its self again.

    So i'we been getting these messages  for a really long time and it really anyoing!

    I was looking for help through whole internet but absolutely NOTHING worked :'(

    I really don't know what to do.

    -I was trying to restart my modem.

    • 1 method don't work
    • 2 method don't work

    -my internet crashed like 2 secs ago and now it fixed it self..

    PLEASE HELP

    And i am wondering could that be Virus ?

    Hi.  I had the same "DNS server not responding", tried all the flushing, changing address to automatically and everything. Spent 2 hours on the phone with Hughesnet to no avail, and then two two hours with Dell, with a guy in India named Suman.  !Finally he suggested I unplug my desktop Dell from the modem, and go wirelessly. It worked. Now when I diagnose, message comes back, "problem with DNS server "fixed"." How about that?

    Mine said same thing and still couldn't get on line. I restarted my computer and everything during fine now.
