Hello,

My computer is stuggling to get internet access, I keep getting this message - Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding).  All of the other computers in my house are connected with no difficulty.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

I resolved the problem.  When my router lost power, somehow the addresses got changed so the IP address of the wireless Dell computer no longer fell in the pool of addresses maintained by the router.  When I reconfigured by router and had released and renewed my IP address on the Dell computer, everything started working again.

Thanks for your help!

not sure what you mean "cloning excessively". Is cloning to ONE other machine too much???

When I run Internet Connections troubleshooting, I receive the same message as this thread is about.

That's probably not the right troubleshooter to expose your problem cause.  Evidently all it knows how to do is check to see if TCP is running and then if it is try to use DNS and then if that fails tell you that DNS is not responding.

The poster credited with the answer for this thread discovered that his addressing was wrong.  Cloning excessively could have the same effect.

The real answer for the symptoms stated by the OP is given by the one which currently rated "Most helpful".   So, I would still suggest starting your own thread with your own details and use that answer as a guide for the required diagnostics.

    Hello Robert,

with all due respect, the issue that I am facing is related to this thread: " Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server or any web address) is not responding) "

When I run Internet Connections troubleshooting, I receive the same message as this thread is about. I thought to give a heads up how I end up finding the highlighted message (issue).

The issue is internet connection not cloning the machine.
