Hello,

My computer is stuggling to get internet access, I keep getting this message - Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding).  All of the other computers in my house are connected with no difficulty.  Any suggestions?

I resolved the problem.  When my router lost power, somehow the addresses got changed so the IP address of the wireless Dell computer no longer fell in the pool of addresses maintained by the router.  When I reconfigured by router and had released and renewed my IP address on the Dell computer, everything started working again.

    @JCP0404

    I assume that you are able to ping the machines using its ip address; but not using the Domain name. Please check whether the DNS client service is running in ur machine or its stopped. If its stopped, then start the service. Also. please make sure that ur machine is pointing to a valid DNS server. That you can check using the command 'ipconfig/all' from DOS.

    I resolved the problem by uninstalling McAfee anti virus. For some reason, McAfee had restricted all access to the router. Currently using Kaspersky. Everything is A...Okay.

     Anything else I should do/try? 

    Probably open your own thread with your own details.  E.g. perhaps the suggestion to try  ipconfig /registerdns  would have been more appropriate in your case.
