Hello,

My computer is stuggling to get internet access, I keep getting this message - Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding).  All of the other computers in my house are connected with no difficulty.  Any suggestions?

I resolved the problem.  When my router lost power, somehow the addresses got changed so the IP address of the wireless Dell computer no longer fell in the pool of addresses maintained by the router.  When I reconfigured by router and had released and renewed my IP address on the Dell computer, everything started working again.

    I have the problem:

    devise or resource (DNS server) is not responding

    Problem -  I keep getting a yellow triangle with an exclamation point with windows 7 (WIFI Bars)

    and my connection is not as goos needed to be.

    He it's info. about my Laptop:

    Windows 7 x64

    OS Version 6.1.7601

    Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q894

    Installation Date: 11/02/2010

    Network Adapter: Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NICNote: I have the late update driver and W7

    When i use command prompt registerdns its tells me

    the requested operation requires elevation?

    I assume that you are able to ping the machines using its ip address; but not using the Domain name. Please check whether the DNS client service is running in ur machine or its stopped. If its stopped, then start the service. Also. please make sure that ur machine is pointing to a valid DNS server. That you can check using the command 'ipconfig/all' from DOS.
