Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) is apperaing in WIN 7 too. I can only use my computer in Safe Mode with Networking. I have several minidump files but how do I use them with WinDbg utility. Also how do I load and verify the symbols. Does anyone have Microsoft support 1800 number? Thanks.

I have uninstalled Mcafee because I couldnt disable two of its services. Whats SPTD layer? I will test on Alcohol too. I was just wondering how do these apps run flawlessly on my other computer with win xp and so miserably on Vista n 7. Should I go back to win xp? I am updating the Skydrive too. Thanks.
The sptd.sys may also be installed with Alcohol 120% or other applications that use the SPTD layer.
Since McAfee was involved in previous crashes I would suggest to uninstall it and see if that helps. As an alternative you could try NOD32 (paid, with a 30-day free trial) or Microsoft Security Essentials (free).
I would avoid installing any third party firewall, at this point.
Can you make available the minidump file from the last crash?
Oh I am in normal mode now. I had disabled all the services and let it run for the whole day, which was fine. So I enabled Mcafee to test, which ran fine for more than a day. But today it crashed again. Should I get rid of Mcafee? If so what anitivirus should I use?
The sptd.sys looks like a system file - I dont know what Daemon Tools is. I never installed it.
If you have installed the Debugging Tools you are good to go, you do not have to install anything else.
I has a look at the minidump files and there is quite an assortment of errors.
McAfee drivers were involved in quite a few of the crashes, both in Windows 7 and Vista.
The sptd.sys driver, which is installed with such applications as Daemon Tools, is also suspect.
However the issue could also be hardware related.
Did performing a "clean boot" allow you start Windows in Normal Mode?
