msg.exe / netsend - anything availible on Windows 7?

On XP, I used to communicate through my network for fun via netsend. 

I've googled, and apparently msg.exe replaced it in vista?

What about Win7?

Hi Shankopotamus,

Welcome to Microsoft Windows 7 Forums.

Windows 7 does not support msg.exe and net send commands to send messages over network.

    my apologies for being so vague in my question

    Our IT team is looking at ways to broadcast messages/important notices across our network in the form of a pop up on the users screens. At the moment we relying on email notification which has not been very successful. can MyChat work for this?

    We have Skype for business but have not explored any ways of using Skype as a broadcast tool

    Hello.

    You can use client-server system, like MyChat. Up to 20 online users is fully free. All features, like offline messages, broadcasts, chats, calls and files exchange are available in it.

    This program works fine under Windows XP and newer systems.

    Also, MyChat has the special console tool for sending messages from command line.

    Some examples:

    1. Personal message for user:

    mcconsole.exe /server="192.168.10.1" /privmsg /userfrom="S.John" /userto="17" /msg="Hello![CRLF]Please, check an email."

    1. Send message from external file, from embedded robot Elisa:

    mcconsole.exe /server="mycompany.com" /privmsg /userto="******@mail.com" /msgfile="message.txt"

    1. Message into the text conference from domain user:

    mcconsole.exe /server="213.130.24.149" /port="4000" /key="LDF2o8fG@#@Zf" /chanmsg /userfrom="mycorp.com/S.Ivkin" /uid="17" /msg="Channel message"

    1. Personal message to domain user from embedded robot:

    mcconsole.exe /server="localhost" /privmsg /userto="office/A.Skorohod" /msg="Wake up, Neo :-)"
