How can I darken the print on my screen?

Hi,

I run Win 7 64bit on a computer with performance rating of 7.3.

The print which appears on my screen (a top spec Sony Monitor) is coloured light grey, and difficult to read, especially against the bright screen background. 

Will you please tell me how to get the print to be fully black.

I have tried the high contrast themes, but occassionally, when entering data the yellow lettering disappears into the background, and I cannot tell what i am doing.

I can't figure out how to correct the grey lettering on my screen and it is hard to read. I am not a computer genius and I was not raised on computers. Can we figure out an easier way to do this?

I can follow everything you say, but, excuse ignorance -how do I create "hex color #a9dbf6".

(I remember reading a joke somewhere which goes - There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who undeerstand hex numbers, and those who dont).

I wish I could help you both but I'm running Windows 10 on a 2018 HP laptop.  I was finally able to find a workable method to my vision problems but since you're not running the same version of Windows it wouldn't be of any help to you.  I'm sorry.

Hello, I have sent several request for help with the print on documents and I cannot read many, if all of them.  I have not received any response or help in t his matter.

Please help, it is ruining my eye vision from the constant strain.
