Compatability problem with Accu-chek 360 diabetes software

accu-chek 360 diabetes software will not install on windows 7. I contacted their technical support and they are working on windows 7 version but didn't know when it would be released. I'm currently using it on my wife's xp computer however it is with limited access. I really want to use it on my own computer.

First thought was to use virtual pc xp mode however my hardware doesn't support it. I'm looking for suggestions.

I'm thinking maybe I can get a third party virtual pc or virtual hard drive and install my oem copy of vista home basic on it.

Don't know if this reinstall oem disc would work in this situation.

dell inspiron 1545 laptop

3g memory

160g hard drive (100g avail)

windows 7 enterprise(32b)

You must copy the the file folder from CD 2 to the External Software folder on your hard drive:

Place cd 2 in cd drive and copy the content from the external software folder of CD 2 to the external software folder in you folder that you created

So in the External Software folder under your Accu-check folder on your hard drive you should have 2 folders

Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Reader

I have the answer,

Copy all the files from cd 1 to a folder on your hard drive ( i created one on my desktop called Accu-check )
Open the External Software folder in the folder location
Place cd 2 in cd drive and copy the content from the external software folder of CD 2 to the external software folder in you folder that you created
Get the orca msi edit program and install it.

5. Use orca to edit the msi file in the file folder you copied all the files to from the CD's ( ACCU-CHEK 360.msi). look for launchcondition and make sure all of this is in there especially the last part or (versionNT=601) as thats what will allow you to install under Win 7 this is how it should look when you are done... (VersionNT = 500 AND ServicePackLevel >= 4) OR (VersionNT = 501 AND ServicePackLevel >= 2) OR (VersionNT = 502 AND ServicePackLevel >= 1)OR (VersionNT = 600) OR (VersionNT = 601)DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE!!!

Do a "save as" and over wright the ACCU-CHEK 360.msi file in the file folder on your PC

Run the setup.exe from the file folder you copied all the files to and follow the install instructions... i have successfully intalled on 3 different win 7 PC's you will need to put in your activation key witch is on the back of the book that the CDs are in lower right very small hard to read but it is there.

You can copy the contents of your file folder to a DVD or flash drive and use that to install on other PC's if you want.

****As you have already contacted the manufacturer for details I would suggest you to stay in touch with them and then install the latest version on Windows 7.

The reinstall OEM disc would not help. The reinstall Vista OEM disc would set the computer back to factory shipped condition. The software is also not listed as compatible with Windows Vista at any stage. For more information about vista compatibility with the software it would be better to take assistance from the manufacturer.

Also, using Third Party Software, including hardware drivers and software can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of Third Party Software can be solved. Using Third Party Software is at your own risk.

Its working!!!!!!!!

Phoned Accu-Chek and told them my problems and they said someone from there IT department would phone me back.....and they did! Thats a miracle to start with, a company phoning you back when you have a problem, for me its a first anyway!

Then he seemed to know straight away and i qoute "Have you got the Icons on your desktop enlarged?"

I wasnt sure as i hadnt altered them since i first installed w8 over a year ago, and yes i had, as soon as i set them back to 100% and loged back in the app ran perfectly. I say perfectly but what i mean is it ran perfectly in a dsandboxed version of windows 7 32bit running in VMware Player ( thank you LewisMacKenzie :) ) as the MS Server 2012 will not uninstall no matter what i do, yes i tried to uninstal via programs, it says its "not installed", yes i tried uninstalling by running setup from the dvd "server IS installed", i even removed folders and went through the registry removing any reference to sql but still its there, or rather not there but is sort of lol.......But thats a MS screw up not Accu-Cheks,just thought i would post my solution.
1. make sure resolution is above 1024 x 768.
2. THIS INCLUDES having your Icons set at 100% magnification, nothing above, or, magnified!
3. Install everything as Admin.
4. Install MS Server once dont install it and then mess something up or you will not be able to install again it seems!
5. Works in a sandbox VMware running Windows 7 32bit as a virtual OS.....Dont know about anything else as i dont posess any other OS apart from that and W8.1 64bit (but w8.1 dosent play fairly if it sees any other OS so i am not attempting to install w8.1 as a virtual OS on a w8.1 system so dont ask me too!!! Been there in the past wish i hadnt believe me!!!!!
Good luck, believe me its been a real UNESSESORY PAIN, felt like i was back in windows 98!
