Suddenly all my desktop icons have green check marks on them. What does it mean? How do I fix them?

Hi,
Do you use norton 360? Norton -> Settings -> Backup Settings -> Backup Status Overlays -> OFF -> Apply. After you run your next backup (you can do it manually) the check marks will disappear.

you can refresh and sometimes they go away and come back. They can also come from drop box. You should do a quick scan with windows security essentials. If you get a warning for malicious or virus on the computer at svchost then you have company. It can be a couple of things but usually turns out to be a Trojan (if it pops up and ls not necessary). There is a malicious software going around that is called heur I believe. That may also be it.
Are you sure that it isn't just a notification that the files in that app were backed up to the cloud?
