Hi,

Do you use norton 360? Norton -> Settings -> Backup Settings -> Backup Status Overlays -> OFF -> Apply.  After you run your next backup (you can do it manually) the check marks will disappear.

Hope this helps.

The green check marks that appeared on my Windows 10 icons were large and without any surrounding graphic.

They appeared with the installation of Intel Rapid Storage Technology.  This product offers many capabilities not needed in my situation.

I went to Windows > Settings > Intel Rapid Storage with a selection of uninstall.  This removed the check marks along with the App.  The process was graceful and problem free, in my experience.

Right click on an empty spot on your desktop and click refresh.  That should get rid of them.
