Suddenly all my desktop icons have green check marks on them.  What does it mean?  How do I fix them?

Hi,

Do you use norton 360? Norton -> Settings -> Backup Settings -> Backup Status Overlays -> OFF -> Apply.  After you run your next backup (you can do it manually) the check marks will disappear.

Hope this helps.

I am fed up with these green arrows, I don't have Norton and I have tried clicking refresh and I also uninstalled some Microsoft programme that people suggested and they go then they reappear, I just can't seem to get rid of them.

You may NOT have Norton, but you should check with whomever is your security provider .. This is all in your "Settings" with your Security Software.
