I receive the following error code for updates 800 70641

Hi The Micksterr, Although similar, your issue may be different from the original issue in this thread. Please create a new thread here and include the following information: The complete version of Windows you have installed The update(s) that are failing to install The complete error message(s) received Any troubleshooting steps you have complete

Does not work. It says the specified service does not exist as an installed program. It also says system error 1060 has occured. I've had it with Microsoft and Dell. Apple is looking real good to me.

Hi RobertBoyles, The next step, since none of the troubleshooting steps resolved your issue, is to perform an InPlace Upgrade. Follow the steps in the link that best fits your version of Windows. If you still have issue with Windows Updates after this step, you will need to perform a clean installation of Windows. Before performing major troubleshooting steps, it is best to make sure you have a recent back up of your personal data and have a way to reinstall any software currently on the computer.
