I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. How do I change the font color that describes the desktop icons?

Hi

You cannot change the Desktop font color.

Because Desktop wallpaper images have varying colors, it is easy for the font colors to be unreadable if they are on top of the same color as a wallpaper image. For instance a black font on top of a dark part of the background image or a white font on a white part of a background image.

The Desktop icon fonts are dynamic and will show white on dark backgrounds and change to white with a black shadow effect on a light background.

    Changing the Font Color may not be possible, however if you are just having trouble reading the shortcut text you can change the default font and font size. I changed my Font to be bold and it is much easier on my eyes.

    1. Open Control Panel (View: Category)
    2. Search for "color"
    3. Select "Change Window colors and metrics"
    4. In the Item drop down select "Icon"
    5. From here you can chose your settings. For example I set mine to:
      1. Font:Calibri
      2. Font Size: 12
      3. Item Size: 20
      4. Bold: Enabled

    Hey Mr. Moderator, see above post.  Very simple solution. Yes you CAN change it from black to white using the simple directions given.  Solved my problem, now all my shortcuts have BLACK lettering instead of that annoying unchangeable? WHITE.
