Desktop Icon Font Color - How do I change the font color of the text that describes desktop icons?

I agree wholeheartedly, if somewhat less passionately than some of these posts.

A solid light blue desktop with plain black font below the icons, should not be beyond the capabilities of Windows 7. It looks fine when I start up, but mysteriously reverts to the ugly, hard to read "shadow" font at some ill-chosen time. Quite annoying. I understand Ronnie's demo, but why has Microsoft chosen to cater to the clutter crowd at the expense of the clean crowd?

The shadowed text on the white background looks like ****. I want to have a simple black text on white background. This is another example of Microsoft thinking for us, and thinking wrong. Please don't respond with another "Don't worry you're pretty little heads" response. We all know Microsoft had it's reason for not allowing us to change this setting, but they were obviously wrong. Yes, Microsoft, you are W-R-O-N-G. You're job is to give the customer what they want, instead you took it away. You did the opposite of what you were suppose to do, making you wrong.

You cannot change the Desktop font color.

Because Desktop wallpaper images have varying colors, it is easy for the font colors to be unreadable if they are on top of the same color as a wallpaper image. For instance a black font on top of a dark part of the background image or a white font on a white part of a background image.

The Desktop icon fonts are dynamic and will show white on dark backgrounds and change to white with a black shadow effect on a light background.

Hi , there is a program for changing the colour of desktop icon text "D-Color xp 1.2" works well with windows 7, the colour can be changed at any time to suit your background.

How can Microsoft make more intense themes and forget to allow us as office workers and home parents not be able to color code our desktop? We use and need to have a system, we use, color code them and especially change the font.. Just so we can read them easier as we are multitasking. The fonts have been interchangeable for a very long time... did Microsoft forget about customer convenience???? It is just wrong we want to create things that are easy for us to continue through this new 21st century? The MIcrosoft Corporation is losing their focus on the households who came through and continues too...by buying a piece of technology per person if NOT more than one piece, the little people who matter in the household home world! Microsoft should at least let us color code our icons I guess I will patent this idea and Microsoft can by it from me!!!.

I have a MBA and cannot find a job for more than 10 dollars a hour but I can "THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX,,,," and I have so many more ideas for so many things especially the typical hourly computer user and  the customer service employees. But for the day to day administrator who is a junior/high school parent, and also a college student. We need something that lets all of us multitask without over-stressing ourselves! Do you know how hard it is for an office administrator (who makes $10 an hour) to take their deserved vacation days? We are never off, someone always calls.
