I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. How do I change the font color that describes the desktop icons?

Hi

You cannot change the Desktop font color.

Because Desktop wallpaper images have varying colors, it is easy for the font colors to be unreadable if they are on top of the same color as a wallpaper image. For instance a black font on top of a dark part of the background image or a white font on a white part of a background image.

The Desktop icon fonts are dynamic and will show white on dark backgrounds and change to white with a black shadow effect on a light background.

    I just found a really stupidly easy way to change the color from white to black cuz I was having this problem too.

    You go to CONTROL PANEL and in the "search control panel" bar at the top type in "COLOR SCHEME"

    then click on the CHANGE WINDOWS COLORS AND METRICS that pops up in the list

    DESKTOP will automatically come up and, this was the problem with mine, the default color of the background is black therefore making the font of the icons white, but if you turn the color to white the font will now be black.

    I only managed to change it from white to black and was happy with that, but I'm not sure about other colors.

    Well Microsoft have left any common sense behind when as most IT people now use cmd with green text as green attracts the eye more naturally plus green on black causes less eye strain for us who always look at computers meaning that we will have less headaches and also less vision issues. 

    My answer to customization is Linux. I only use windows at work to be honest as they have tried to take too much control away from us that know what we are doing, I get home users are not savvy but they should have the option to control all of this with a registry mod or some tickbox.

    Hi

    Like win ten mostly

    Irritated by having to look up ways to work around the changes, but that's been typical

    What my main problem is I can't bloody see that dang font. its too small not bold and its in a color I cant see well. I also can't find a work around. I found a work around that gives me back my colored title bar, I mean really you had to leave that out??? At least now i can see the tabs.

    I ask that you give me back a way to configure my personal settings I used them to actually reduce eye strain and see what I am Doing.
