Need to Reinstall Windows Installer in Windows 7

HI I NEED TO REINSTALL WINDOWS INSTALLER ON WINDOWS 7 BUT I CANNOT FIND A DOWNLOAD FOR IT  .I SEE FIXES FOR VISTA XP ETC BUT NOTHING FOR 7

Click Start

Type: CMD, from the results, right click CMD

Click 'Run as Administrator'

At the Command Prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any integrity violations

Restart your system

  1. Insert the Windows 7 DVD
  2. Restart your computer
  3. When asked if you want to boot from your DVD drive, do so.
  4. Choose your language, click Next.
  5. Click 'Repair your computer'
  6. Select operating system you want to repair.

    Andre,

    I too have lost the Windows Installer file!  But, in my case, I do not have the installation CD's since I purchased it from Best Buy and the Geek Squad installed everything in the store.  Is there another method to access the Windows Installer dte set and download it to fix my problem?  Thanks in advance for any assistancce you may provide!

    while working on Step 3 I noticed that I did not have the final file name on any of the searches. Not sure how to fix this.
