Click Start

Type: CMD, from the results, right click CMD

Click 'Run as Administrator'

At the Command Prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any integrity violations

Restart your system

  1. Insert the Windows 7 DVD
  2. Restart your computer
  3. When asked if you want to boot from your DVD drive, do so.
  4. Choose your language, click Next.
  5. Click 'Repair your computer'
  6. Select operating system you want to repair.

i have tried each and every fix listed on this site but nothing has worked and it's incredibly frustrating.  I try to install i-tunes and get a message to check if it's a valid Windows installer package.  I try to install Microsoft office and keep getting a message that Microsoft encountered an error and then the program closes.  If i try to download Windows Installer package, I get a message saying that it's all ready installed...

I have been trying to fix this for weeks to no avail.  I have no Windows 7 back up DVD as it came installed on the computer out of the bos.

Can someone please help with a valid fix?

Umm I bought my Acer pc without a windows 7 DVD, I also experience alot of trouble and frustration that I cannot install any program to my computer since Windows Installer somehow managed to crash and not able to function again. Also Windows updater isn´t working. I had this computer for a month and the problems started. I´ve tried like every option available but non seems to work... I wanted to asks, when does windows going to repair this issue? I keep waiting for a solution to arrive but I am tired of waiting as I am waiting for almost 1.5 years now. It's like having a expensive computer but you can barely enjoy it as the old computers worked fine without much trouble. But this problem is sabotaging the PC, I cannot even update flash player and play simple games that now using Microsoft siverlight or require a better version of Flash.

T_T please I hope someone knows the answere to this problem that actually works and could share it with me...

Hi. I had the same issue. I was able to solve it by turning off my user account controls. Go to START. Then Control Panel and access user accounts. I had to manually type in user account controls. Slide the control all the way down. A restart will be required. This worked for me. Remember to only do this if you trust the downloads you are making. Once you complete your downloads. You can reset the controls the same way you. Hope this helps.
