Need to Reinstall Windows Installer in Windows 7

HI I NEED TO REINSTALL WINDOWS INSTALLER ON WINDOWS 7 BUT I CANNOT FIND A DOWNLOAD FOR IT  .I SEE FIXES FOR VISTA XP ETC BUT NOTHING FOR 7

Click Start

Type: CMD, from the results, right click CMD

Click 'Run as Administrator'

At the Command Prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any integrity violations

Restart your system

  1. Insert the Windows 7 DVD
  2. Restart your computer
  3. When asked if you want to boot from your DVD drive, do so.
  4. Choose your language, click Next.
  5. Click 'Repair your computer'
  6. Select operating system you want to repair.

    Problem solved, used a tool from Iobit,com to fix.

    from trvlngrmB, no, i have vista [32]. received message from MS [yr or so ago] that  i could install win 7 for free. did pre check & downloaded win 7 [for hours!] but could never get it to work. so down loaded again per instructions, still not working & keep getting updates for vista. so i agree with paulker & newmark, just too much trouble or scam by someone! thanx 4 getting back 2 me.

    when I go to CMD in the start menu it closes and shows the error again! I can't open Google Chrome or anything...

    Step 4: Check the permissions

    Verify the System has Full Control on the following keys:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer

    After I updated to Build 10547, I attempted to download and install the latest NVidai driver for my GTX 550ti Display Adapter.  The installation fails.  I concluded that the MS Installer is corrupted.

    I have follow the steps that you outlined.  the installer did not work after Step 2.  I then completed step 3.

    I don't understand what is meant by 'Full System Control' in step 4... but, it seems like the key entries are messed up:
