Click Start

Type: CMD, from the results, right click CMD

Click 'Run as Administrator'

At the Command Prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any integrity violations

Restart your system

  1. Insert the Windows 7 DVD
  2. Restart your computer
  3. When asked if you want to boot from your DVD drive, do so.
  4. Choose your language, click Next.
  5. Click 'Repair your computer'
  6. Select operating system you want to repair.

I try to get back to my DVD it does not work. The "Click 'Repair your computer'" do not existed. It is my understanding, after talking to several people (incl. Staples support) that once you had Windows 10 install, even if you do not agree, and after running recovery to go back to the good Windows 7 you can no longer run recovery from the DVD the only thing it allow to do is to reload Windows 7 and risk to lose all your work. Again the only option show when try to REPAIR from the DVD is to RELOAD windows 7 and the risk to loose all the install apps and the work done.

Sad to say that this failed to work with Apple itunes. I guess that I will need to live without backing up my iphone to this computer or using icloud or any of the Apple products on this computer. Itunes used to work but when I had trouble recognizing my old iphone on the computer, the W7 instructions, i uninstalled it, then was unable to reinstall. oh well
