Print Spooler wont start windows 7 error 1053

I am trying to install a printer on windows 7 but the print spooler wont start so i can't install

I have accessed the services.msc menu and tried to manually restart the spooler it is at this point that it i get the error msg:

 Error 1053 Did not respond in timely manner etc . I have tried a computer restart but to no avail.

What should I do as i have no printing capacity but i do have scanning??

The registry key seems OK.

Can you run the system file checker to check for system file corruption - follow Option 1 in the folliwng link:

A system restore will not work in this situation as the printer never worked.

    Can you now try, again, uninstalling the  "UMBus Enumerator" and the "UMBus Root Bus Enumerator" and then restart the computer.

    Then reinstall the  "UMBus Root Bus Enumerator" and restart the computer.

    No, didnt work. Only the "UMBus Enumerator" listed under  "UMBus Root Bus Enumerator" was installed. Not the other. I tried to install this one seperately after I restarted  after "UMBus Root Bus Enumerator" installation. But it again says: Device wont start. Error code 10.

    It may help if can you provide some more info on the computer:

    Start > type msinfo32 in the "Search programs and files" box and press "Enter" > File > Save > then save as an .nfo file

    Then make the resulting .nfo file available via Windows Live SkyDrive.

    BTW, is reinstalling Windows 7 a viable option for you?
