Print Spooler wont start windows 7 error 1053

I am trying to install a printer on windows 7 but the print spooler wont start so i can't install

I have accessed the services.msc menu and tried to manually restart the spooler it is at this point that it i get the error msg:

 Error 1053 Did not respond in timely manner etc . I have tried a computer restart but to no avail.

What should I do as i have no printing capacity but i do have scanning??

The registry key seems OK.

Can you run the system file checker to check for system file corruption - follow Option 1 in the folliwng link:

A system restore will not work in this situation as the printer never worked.

    When I look it that way, I only see  "UMBus Root Bus Enumerator", then "UMBus Enumerator" is listed below that one.. So, there is no "UMBus Enumerator", besides the one that is listed under  "UMBus Root Bus Enumerator".

    When I install this "UMBus Enumerator" by "add hardware". It does have a distinct heading, but nothing listed underneath and it gives error "can not start" (code 10).

    Can you uninstall the two instances of  "UMBus Enumerator", the good one and the one with the error, and then uninstall the "UMBus Root Bus Enumerator" and then restart the computer.

    Then reinstall the  "UMBus Root Bus Enumerator" and restart the computer.

    Hopefully that will reinstall two good instances of  "UMBus Enumerator".

    Unfortunately, that did not work. It only reinstalled the "UMBus Enumerator" that is located on the "UMBus Root Bus Enumerator". Do you have other suggestions? Can i, for instance, download a good version of "UMBus Enumerator" and install this one?
