Print Spooler wont start windows 7 error 1053

I am trying to install a printer on windows 7 but the print spooler wont start so i can't install

I have accessed the services.msc menu and tried to manually restart the spooler it is at this point that it i get the error msg:

 Error 1053 Did not respond in timely manner etc . I have tried a computer restart but to no avail.

What should I do as i have no printing capacity but i do have scanning??

The registry key seems OK.

Can you run the system file checker to check for system file corruption - follow Option 1 in the folliwng link:

A system restore will not work in this situation as the printer never worked.

    That all looks normal.

    For the Error 1053 you are getting with the Print Spooler service may indicate there is a problem with the pooler subsystem.

    Did this printer or another printer ever work?

    The printer worked perfectly with my XP then linux then vista laptop but wont and has never worked with windows 7 neither has anyother printer

    Until the Printer Spooler service works you will not be able to install a printer.

    Can you export the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Spooler 

    Then upload the resulting .reg file to Windows Live SkyDrive or similar site and provide the link.

    Also, did you "clean install" Windows 7 or did you upgrade "over top" of a previous Windows installation?
