Print Spooler wont start windows 7 error 1053

I am trying to install a printer on windows 7 but the print spooler wont start so i can't install

I have accessed the services.msc menu and tried to manually restart the spooler it is at this point that it i get the error msg:

 Error 1053 Did not respond in timely manner etc . I have tried a computer restart but to no avail.

What should I do as i have no printing capacity but i do have scanning??

The registry key seems OK.

Can you run the system file checker to check for system file corruption - follow Option 1 in the folliwng link:

A system restore will not work in this situation as the printer never worked.

    What printer is installed?

    Have you tried removing and re-installing the printer?

    It is a brother DCP145C

    i uninstalled it and tried to restart the spooler to get the same msg

    then restarted the computer & got the same msg

    I then tried to reinstall the printer and it would only install the scanner

    In the  services.msc menu can you double-click "Print Spooler"  and then click on the "Dependencies" tab. What is listed under "Ths service depends on the following system components"?

    Also, there appears to be Windows 7 drivers for the  DCP145C relesased in October. Have you these drivers?

    I have downloaded the drivers and tried to install but get an error during the install which appears to be due to the spooler

    The spooler depends on:

    HTTP

    Remote Procedure call (RPC)

    • DCOM server Process Launcher
    • EPC Endpoint mapper

    following depends on spooler:

    fax

    i have gone through the service list and all the dependent are running
