Print Spooler wont start windows 7 error 1053

I am trying to install a printer on windows 7 but the print spooler wont start so i can't install

I have accessed the services.msc menu and tried to manually restart the spooler it is at this point that it i get the error msg:

 Error 1053 Did not respond in timely manner etc . I have tried a computer restart but to no avail.

What should I do as i have no printing capacity but i do have scanning??

The registry key seems OK.

Can you run the system file checker to check for system file corruption - follow Option 1 in the folliwng link:

A system restore will not work in this situation as the printer never worked.

    after a few time of rebooting the computer and rolling and re-installing updates and plugging the printer in and unplugging it, the Print Spooler is now working. Thanks for all the help

    Make sure to run an "elevated" command prompt:

    Start > type cmd.exe in the "Search programs and files" box and then, under "Programs" right-click cmd.exe and select "Run as administrator".

    Then, at the command prompt  type sfc /scannow and press "Enter"
