I just upgraded from Windows XP. There's a few features that I miss and I'm not sure if there's anyway to get them. In XP, you could have the file name appear in the corner of the picture when the screensaver was running. Really helpful for finding pics that you want to send or ID'ing the picture. Any way of getting this feature in Win7? The <arrow down> key would freeze the current picture. In Win7, it now wakes up the computer. Anyway to freeze the pics in screensaver mode? Not sure how much this is related to the screensaver, but the monitor and the computer are both set to go to sleep after 1 hour. Neither happens. Even a day or two later it's still running. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I too like having the file name and path of the picture when in screensaver mode. I copied ssmypics.scr from an xp computer into C:\windows\system32 on my Windows 7 computer. I then went into screensaver settings but didn't see any options to change that would give me the file path and name. I'm still not getting the file path and name in my screensaver. This may be complicated by the fact that I don't store my pictures in the "My Pictures" file folder. Any ideas what I need to do?

Dear JMHoffman: Thanks - worked like a charm! (To anybody else doing this, make sure you right-click the ssmypics once it's in the Syste32 and push "install".) But is there any way to get it so that it shows the file name, but not the whole path? As in, "Me in the Woods" (or whatever) rather than "c/windows/libraries/pictures/screensaver/meinthewoods", or whatever it is? It's distracting having the whole path. Again, thanks! (Now, if they could just make the "search" less worthless, and make it so all my damn windows always maximize!) ~Jean Lyde

Here's the solution. Copy ssmypics.scr from your old XP machine to the Window 7 machine c:windows:system32 directory. then the old screensaver is available in settings. worked for me! It worked, but it doesn't recognize the tags that I used in WLPG. I have a tag for Nudes so that snapshots of my wife giving birth don't suprise our guests! This fix plays ALL my photos. I need the photo names so I can identify more nude photos when they pop us, so it doesn't happen again.
