I just upgraded from Windows XP. There's a few features that I miss and I'm not sure if there's anyway to get them. In XP, you could have the file name appear in the corner of the picture when the screensaver was running. Really helpful for finding pics that you want to send or ID'ing the picture. Any way of getting this feature in Win7? The <arrow down> key would freeze the current picture. In Win7, it now wakes up the computer. Anyway to freeze the pics in screensaver mode? Not sure how much this is related to the screensaver, but the monitor and the computer are both set to go to sleep after 1 hour. Neither happens. Even a day or two later it's still running. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

JM, Thanks! That was way too easy of a fix! Interesting. The back arrow still doesn't work until the screensaver has run for a certain length of time, then it works. I thought it was a problem with the XP machine but it does the same thing on the Win7 machine. Anyone else have that problem? My version of the file is dated 8/4/2004. Now all I have left is to get the new computer to go to sleep..... :)

The functionality is now part of the Windows Live Photo Gallery in Windows 7. You can go to http://get.live.com to download the program. The file name option is not there, but all the other options are, including the ability to customize the display. If this was helpful, please vote by clicking the green triangle. Thanks for that info. But not having the file name is my main issue with Windows Live Photo Gallery. That is a very important feature to me (and apparently to several others too). When I installed ssmypics.scr from XP, that also fixed my computer going to sleep. WLPG was never letting the computer go into sleep mode. I tried all the different settings and nothing would make it go into sleep mode, until I stopped using WLPG......

Copying the ssmypics.scr from XP to W7 c/windows/system32 worked for me also.

Here's the solution. Copy ssmypics.scr from your old XP machine to the Window 7 machine c:windows:system32 directory. then the old screensaver is available in settings. worked for me!
