I just upgraded from Windows XP. There's a few features that I miss and I'm not sure if there's anyway to get them. In XP, you could have the file name appear in the corner of the picture when the screensaver was running. Really helpful for finding pics that you want to send or ID'ing the picture. Any way of getting this feature in Win7? The <arrow down> key would freeze the current picture. In Win7, it now wakes up the computer. Anyway to freeze the pics in screensaver mode? Not sure how much this is related to the screensaver, but the monitor and the computer are both set to go to sleep after 1 hour. Neither happens. Even a day or two later it's still running. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Odd! There's no random option in my settings. I just pointed it to the top most folder of my many subs and it's displaying them randomly by default verifyably so by file names displayed.

Hi Sevlan777 Thanks, but now there is another problem, the XP slideshow is not properly random, I am getting dozens of images from my first sub-folder and none from the 100 or so other sub-folders. So random is not working as it does in the win7 version :( :( :( Oh well, perhaps I will have to try some commercial screen saver to do the job properly... Cheers, Mark.

Regarding the link I provided to download ssmypics.scr, perhaps it's better with this link . I just went through a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit and had to it all over. A basic rule of thumb, if you can't trust your anti-virus/malware/spamware, etc, etc, etc, program/utilities(s) or the site you are patronizing, it's time to replace 'em with one(s) you do or simply do without...:)

Here's the solution. Copy ssmypics.scr from your old XP machine to the Window 7 machine c:windows:system32 directory. then the old screensaver is available in settings. worked for me! Could someone there who has succeeded with this solution please email me this ssmypics.scr file? I have downloaded one on the web, but one is very open to viruses with scripts like a screen saver... so I trust forum people a lot more ;) Thanks...
