hye..i need help with this problem..i have installed a game..and created a shortcut at the desktop..when i tried to open the program, im getting this error "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item"..im running Windows Vita Home Premium with 32-bit and im the administrator..before this also got this kind of error when im trying to install BS Player on C drive..but when i tried installed it at D drive,it worked..how do i solve this problem..please help me..

Hi,

If any of the suggestions do not work for you, do the following:

1.  right click the application in question

2.  at the bottom of the properties screen (under the Advanced button)  there is a button that says "UNBLOCK"  (there should be a security message that states that this file has been copied from another computer...) 

3.  Press this button.

this worked for me.

This error can happen for several reasons; insufficient permissions, network connections, missing or corrupt files or even because a file or folder is being blocked by Windows or by your antivirus application. See the KB link in this post:

    Thanks King.randhawa,

    I got the issue resolved.  My pc was infected with virus that wasn't letting me use anti-virus programs.   I resolved it in this thread.

    hello,

    One think keep in mind when ever you uninstall your anitvirus not uninstall help you remove it because it has its own firewall so it not let you go for another one.....

    Now you fix your computer that's the good think....

    I have tried this in safe mode and normal and the same message comes up every time, can't open access control editor. Access is denied. Please use spell check, phonetically spelling words that you find too difficult to spell is just taxing on the intelligent people perusing these forums for an answer.
