hye..i need help with this problem..i have installed a game..and created a shortcut at the desktop..when i tried to open the program, im getting this error "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item"..im running Windows Vita Home Premium with 32-bit and im the administrator..before this also got this kind of error when im trying to install BS Player on C drive..but when i tried installed it at D drive,it worked..how do i solve this problem..please help me..

Hi,
If any of the suggestions do not work for you, do the following:
1. right click the application in question
2. at the bottom of the properties screen (under the Advanced button) there is a button that says "UNBLOCK" (there should be a security message that states that this file has been copied from another computer...)
3. Press this button.
this worked for me.

This error can happen for several reasons; insufficient permissions, network connections, missing or corrupt files or even because a file or folder is being blocked by Windows or by your antivirus application. See the KB link in this post:

I have a problem with trying to install one program and sharing it with 4 other users on my new PC with Windows 8.1 Loved my XP PC as it did everything I wanted it to do but 8.1 is not making my life easy. Here's the chat with Microsoft Answer Desk this morning. Can someone tell me if there is a quick solution to this or do I have to really install the programs I purchase from other vendors 5 times?
I've tried other steps mentioned in this post and none of them are working. I'm just concerned about wasting disk space and my time to install every off-the-shelf application 5 times. I'm working on installing my applications that I had on my XP PC to my new Windows 8.1. I just started with Silhouette Studio because my daughter had a project to do. I let her use my account for her project but she needs to be able to run the program under her account as well. My wife will be the next victim as she also uses the same program to create cut out designs for her bulletin board at the school she teaches at.
