hye..i need help with this problem..i have installed a game..and created a shortcut at the desktop..when i tried to open the program, im getting this error "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item"..im running Windows Vita Home Premium with 32-bit and im the administrator..before this also got this kind of error when im trying to install BS Player on C drive..but when i tried installed it at D drive,it worked..how do i solve this problem..please help me..

Hi,

If any of the suggestions do not work for you, do the following:

1.  right click the application in question

2.  at the bottom of the properties screen (under the Advanced button)  there is a button that says "UNBLOCK"  (there should be a security message that states that this file has been copied from another computer...) 

3.  Press this button.

this worked for me.

This error can happen for several reasons; insufficient permissions, network connections, missing or corrupt files or even because a file or folder is being blocked by Windows or by your antivirus application. See the KB link in this post:

    Ok, i had this same problem with opening a StarCraft Editor map (.SC2map). Eventually, i figured out that even tho Windows may display the icon that associates the file to a program, Windows may still not know how to open it. Try this:

    Open Properties

    Check the "Open with:". For me, it was (and still is): Unknown application. However, i opened the file with the program that I knew it was for. So, if this^ is the case, try:

    Open the file with the application it is originally from. If you can, open the file by the "Open with:", inside the properties menu.

    if you have anti virus Exit it and run install
