Error message "Revocation information for the security certificate for this site is not available. Do you want to proceed? [Yes] [No] [View certificate]

For some time I have been receiving the dialog box containing "Security Alert 'Revocation information for the security certificate for this site is not available. Do you want to proceed? [Yes] [No] [View certificate]' ." I know that many, if not all, of the sites are OK as I have used them multiple times in the past.

I have tried various "fixes" found by Googling "revocation information" and nothing fixes the problem--what ever it is.

When I try to do various updates, not related to this problem, I am not allow to download the updates because of a security problem.

Any suggestions for a computer challenged user? Thanks.

    I recently did a 'reset' on my IE9 browser and started getting this popup message when I opened certain emails: "Revocation information for the security certificate for this site is not available. Do you want to proceed? Check Yes, No, or View Certificate.

    Someone suggested opening Internet Options>Advance Tab>Unchecking "Check For Publisher's Revocation" Well, I did that and it did NOT solve the problem. Instead, I UNchecked "Check for server certificate revocation". This solved the problem. Hope this helps.

    did you read the whole thread? there are 2 solutions offered.

    if neither fixes your issue, please start your own thread and provide the following info:

    current antivirus

    exact error message

    when does this occur

    any errors in event viewer

    Click Start, Run and in the box enter:

    msinfo32

    Click OK, and when the System Summary info appears, click Edit, Select All (Ctrl-A), Copy (Ctrl-C) and then paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.

    You can edit out any personal information.

    Download, install, update and do full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MBAM):   http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS):  http://www.superantispyware.com/

    Remove all found, reboot, and run again until scans run clean, these can be removed afterwards if you so choose.

    I tried clicking on "View Certificate", then "Install Certificate". Hoping that it works.

    Any joy? Been getting this one a lot, and tried that myself - but here it's very intermittent so can't really test!

    Here it's happening to all users on a Terminal Server, so wondering if there's a way to set this globally?
