Error message "Revocation information for the security certificate for this site is not available. Do you want to proceed? [Yes] [No] [View certificate]

For some time I have been receiving the dialog box containing "Security Alert 'Revocation information for the security certificate for this site is not available. Do you want to proceed? [Yes] [No] [View certificate]' ." I know that many, if not all, of the sites are OK as I have used them multiple times in the past.

I have tried various "fixes" found by Googling "revocation information" and nothing fixes the problem--what ever it is.

When I try to do various updates, not related to this problem, I am not allow to download the updates because of a security problem.

Any suggestions for a computer challenged user? Thanks.

    I tried clicking on "View Certificate", then "Install Certificate". Hoping that it works.

    @Nocie_DL; After looking at several of the responces above and trying to figure out if I wanted to  'Check For Publisher's Revocation'    I came to your post.

    I thought 'No, it couldnt be this easy?'

    Today is 9/28/12 yet according to my computer it is 10/22/12.

    Hopefully the problem is solved!

    Going to keep an eye on my computer's dating habits from now on.

    How come you never noticed before?

    Anyway, my computer date is correct but I still get this message when trying to update Java.

    And we are being urged to do so because of vulnerability issues.

    How can Java say it's nothing to do with them?

    Isn't this message saying there's something wrong with their certificate.

    Otherwise why is this check needed at all?
