I am receiving duplicate emails in my windows mail inbox. How can I stop this?

My Windows Mail emails arrive in twos.....each email is delivered two times. Any suggestions as to how to stop this?

Only speculations :

  1. You have 2 identical e-mail accounts. Open Windows Mail > Tools > Accounts. See 2 identical accounts ?
  2. Your anti-virus program has an e-mail scanning action which causes havoc. It is wise to disable that scanning option.

Tools | Accounts | Mail Section. Any chance you have the same account listed twice?

    Help!

    I have Windows Mail on my Dell laptop with Windows Vista. This has worked fine for several years. A couple of weeks ago while I was in my emails, a username and password login popped up and when I filled it in, suddenly every email comes twice. I have not got a duplicate email account under tools/accounts/properties, I have not changed anything with my antivirus and I have tried deleting my account and doing it again but nothing changes. This only happens on my dell laptop. My iphone is only receiving everything once, and so is my mail if i log on to bigpond. So it seems to be only on my laptop and I have to assume related to the login that I did. Please help, nothing is working and I don't have outlook in my windows pack so I can't even seem to download another free email client. And I don't want to use Windows live, as I don't like it.

    I have the same problem. I do not have duplicate accounts. I checked. Any suggestions?

    What type account? PO3? IMAP? etc.
