I am receiving duplicate emails in my windows mail inbox. How can I stop this?

My Windows Mail emails arrive in twos.....each email is delivered two times. Any suggestions as to how to stop this?

Only speculations :

  1. You have 2 identical e-mail accounts. Open Windows Mail > Tools > Accounts. See 2 identical accounts ?
  2. Your anti-virus program has an e-mail scanning action which causes havoc. It is wise to disable that scanning option.

    NOT helpful at all. I WANT to keep a copy on server. Live Mail had NEVER downloaded twice - until a few days ago. **** is going on?

    Not too helpful and idea , cos I am getting multiple copies of e-mails  and hence getting message from outlook that my mail is being overused

    My solution turned out to be an extra folder that was visible on the left hand side. I had been receiving two emails from my gmail account, but only one from the verizon account. Once I eliminated the folder, I am only seeing one from each in my inbox.
