Why does Windows 7 have typing problems?

Solution to you Question : It is one particular addon on IE which is causing a problem and inorder to fix it you have to reset IE

Step 1 :

Internet Explorer>Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Reset

Step 2 :

Go to Control Panel and then access Internet Options.

Close all Tabs before you could try this as it would throw up an error and sometimes you might not be able to reset even if you've closed all IE Tabs or windows, so you need open task manager and end the iexplore process and then try resetting IE.

This will fix the issue.

IF this issue occurs on Word Processor then disable a few startup items which are not required especially the once from ATI.

Start> Type Run > msconfig > Startup

Restart the computer.

If the Cursor keeps juming here and there then since you say its an inspiron model then you have 32-bit BIOS on these model so. Please enter BIOS by pressing F2 during startup and on the BIOS screen try using the touchpad, if the cursor still jumps here and there. Then try using the computer only on battery power check if its still the same. If it jumps on battery power then try using only the charger. If the cursor works fine when working on battery power then contact dell and get the charger replaced

Basic Step what dell would recommend is to Flash the BIOS to the later version

You can check your BIOS version by going to the system information screen

ie. Start > Run > msinfo32 > On the right handside it gives you the BIOS version.

After flashing BIOS uninstall the touchpad drivers and then try to install the later version from the dell website that sometimes might it.

*** Last but not the Least, if you tried all the above and its still the same get the touchpad replaced that'll fix it, if this still does not then the MBD has to replaced along with the touchpad. This is the ultimate Fix.

I also have problem with typing. My laptop is pretty old, an ACER TravelMate 4220 with the Hungarian keyboard, and I've just installed Windows 7 yesterday. My problem is when typing 1 of the 3 characters , ', ", I have to type 2 times to get it appear ( it appears also the character 2 times ) or type 1 of 3 characters above then another one ( any character ). Especially for the space bar, if I type "ab c", it appears "ab`c", and the same thing with the other 2 characters.

I thought at the beginning that this is the problem caused by language input, but it's still the same when I try fixing that. I also tried some ways like some of you told before but it doesn't help because I think my problem is not the touchpad T_T...

Can anyone show me the solution?

You are using the International keyboard (which I personally don't

like at all). To change it, go to Control Panel | Region and Languages

| Change Keyboards.

Thanks, it works when I change it to English-US, instead of English-US-International like before. Can you tell me why doesn't it work with the International keyboard??
