Why does Windows 7 have typing problems?

I am having the same problem with an Inspiron 1525 with Windows 7.  This problem started from Day 1. I was assuming that it was due to some crazy hotkey settings and couldn't figure out how to prevent it.  It annoyed me that this increasing sophistication was interfering with the simple task of typing.  It seems that it mainly affects me rather than my daughter because it happens mainly if you are typing very fast, which she can't do yet. 

Anyway it seems like this is a very common problem and that whoever is responsible should figure out a fix for it.  Alternative operating systems (see it just switched to italics even though I never wanted to do this, My fingers never left the keyboard).  It also automatically puts in indents, windows pop up all of the time, it jumps to other windows on the computer. Basically the computer has a mind of its own.  Very frustrating when someone buys a brand new computer and it does not work.

The same thing is happening to me.  I try typing slowly to see if I am bouncing on keys or using repeat keys incorrectly.  It just does it randomly every few words, no matter what.  I have been through the Ease of Access keyboard section and tried every variation, to no avail.  Please help with a solution as they is extremely counterproductive and inefficient.  I have a new ASUS K52J notebook with Win 7.  I am desperately awaiting answers/solutions.

As far as these problems are concerned, some of my friends are also facing it up. What you can do is when such problems occur, you might see a dialog box asking you to report it to Microsoft. Just click on send report so that the guys out in Redmond know where the problem actually originates. As far as my experiences, MS take care of every single feedback that they get.

I have this problem with 2 desktop computers (Dell) one with a Microsoft keyboard and one with a Dell keyboard.  I also have this problem on my Lenovo laptop which is docked and using a microsoft keyboard.

Ken and other Microsoft apologists, I tell you with absolute certainty and beyond any shadow of doubt that this problem did not exist with this exact same hardware and this exact same user prior to my upgrade to Windows 7 from XP and from Vista.  Windows 7 has a keyboard input problem.  Maybe the root cause of this problem is not Microsoft software.  For example, there could be some 3rd party resident application that screwing it up.  But regardless of that, the issue didn't exist in previous Windows versions.  I don't expect you to solve it and I don't expect you to even believe me.  I just want my voice to be heard.

When SP1 comes out I will not be surprised to find that this issue has disappeared, and we heretics will have been vindicated. :)

I had this problem with Vista on my Dell laptop for several years and could find no solution.  I recently covered the touchpad with two layers of plastic tape (2inch Scotch Sealing Tape) and the problem went away.  Low tech but it worked.
