I have an icon in the lower right tray that says Intel RST Service is not running. What does this mean, do I need to fix it and how do I fix it?

That service is described here: http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/chipsets/Q57/Q57-overview.htm about halfway down the page. It's not essential, but the most likely fix if you do have additional drives is to reload the sata driver from Intel most appropriate to your chipset.

I know this is a 6 year old post, but thank you. I had just reverted back to windows 7 ultimate. Was trying out 10 Pro, at the moment its not functional enough to replace this system. But I hope it will be, windows 7 was pretty much perfect right out the box.
this should be the correct answer, not the other one that points to vPro/AMT management software/driver downloads or something (btw, that one was with a very serious exploit and Intel has tool to see if vPro/AMT is activated and vulnerable on a system)
