Intel Rapid Storage Technology Service is not running

I have an icon in the lower right tray that says Intel RST Service is not running.  What does this mean, do I need to fix it and how do I fix it?

Hi,

That service is described here: http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/chipsets/Q57/Q57-overview.htm about halfway down the page. It's not essential, but the most likely fix if you do have additional drives is to reload the sata driver from Intel most appropriate to your chipset.

    Go to Task Manager and find Intel Rapid Storage Technology under services and if it is Stopped turn it on.

    So, why didn't Nutcase say that???  Some people think they show their intelligence by confusing the issue.

    If it looks like it is running - Restart it, it probably wasn't running
