I had the same problem in Windows 10 up until today and the only way I could resolve it was by resetting TCPIP with the various commands mentioned elsewhere on the Microsoft forums (netsh and ipconfig etc). The suggestions involving disabling Energy Efficient
Ethernet settings on my NIC did not resolve the problem.
I have a broadband modem/router as the main networking device which my desktop PC is connected to via Ethernet. Wireless networking devices on the PC are disabled.
I then have two switches to get my Ethernet cables to the other end of my house where I have a Netgear wireless router which was connected to one of the switches via one of it's 4 LAN ports
I was able to determine via the registry editor (regedit) that the default gateway on my desktop was changing to the MAC address of the wireless router when waking from sleep.
I thought I would have to alter the configuration of the wireless router when I looked at the back and saw it had a WAN port. I switched the cable from a LAN port to the WAN port and the problem seems to be fixed. I deleted the unnecessary network entries
from the registry and they have not come back.
So, my problem is resolved, but I don't understand why Windows would change the default gateway to the wireless router when it had to go through the modem/router to find the wireless router?
