not able to boot with windows 7 os

To access the System Recovery Environment in Windows 7, simply boot your PC, just before the system loads the Windows operating system; hit the [F8] Function 8 key on your keyboard which will launch the Advanced Boot Options Menu. There you will see a new option 'Repair Your Computer', select this option and hit 'Enter' on your keyboard.

Interesting. Someone at another site posted with the same problem when helping a friend fix their Windows XP machine.
I suggest starting with checking that there are no CDs or DVDs in the drives or removable drives (backups) plugged in to the USB ports. If that is not the problem, see if this KB article helps: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315261/

I struggled with this issue of the NTLDR missing for several days. After much trial, I realized that when I disconnected my second hard drive that everything would but up fine. After trying to trouble shoot the system partition and such, I realized that it was a matter of boot priority. If you go into the system bios (F2 at startup), go to the boot tab and in the hard drive section and lo and behold the second hard drive was set to boot first. So I changed the order and everything works great! How it got set to change the boot order I dont know, that was weird, but all is no well. Hope this helps.
My wife just had her computer rebuild 2 weeks ago. Has been working fine. She got up this morning had the message NTLDR missing. Said to hit any hit which did not work. Try to do F8 3 or 4 dozen times with no luck. Hit F12 but can not find 'Quick Boot' in BIOS. Have any suggestions?

See my reply above which shows you how to fix the issue "IF" it can be fixed at the user level.
Since it was worked on recently the odds are something has failed such as hard drive, drive
controller, and possibly cabling.
If it is repairable following the methods in the above reply will work. If not I would take it back
to where you had it worked on and have them fix it under their guarantee.
