Dual Monitor blacks out the second monitor in locked mode

Hi There,

We work in support environment and use dual monitors setup. WIN7 heard to have very good support for such setup and easy to use functionalities. However at some point something which was great has gone troubled.

We can use both the monitors while working on it however just the time its locked it blacks out the second monitor background and screensavers set if any. I tried looking for any config changes but in vain. Looking out for answer to this here.

There is no built in way to change this functionality. **When locked, one screen will be black.**There may be some 3rd party software that may do this however it would not be supported by  Microsoft.

    You need a video card that supports at least as many outputs as you want to use, or more than one card. This is not a Microsoft issue and, more importantly, is not related to the topic. If you really think there needs to be a discussion about a topic, you can created a thread, assuming no such thread already exists. But please don't hijack existing threads with unrelated discussion.

    Yeah, But that it is what was happen to me, I want two monitor in my PC and one was blocked, because you only can configure one kind of video at the same time HD or Analog not both, only if you have two Video Cards....So, to resolve my case because my monitor come with a VGA connection, I used a DVI to VGA converter and make the connection and work....I think that what happen is that the OS is a one way video HD or Analog and don't work both way at the same time I really don't know, but when I connect both of them as a HD it work.....And that is why I write to this Thread 6/8 months ago, because I was having this problem....

    I think I get what you're saying now. But what you're talking about is 100% 'not' what this thread is about. This thread is about what is shown on secondary monitors when you lock windows. This is not about whether monitors work at all...

    OK let me explain,..... what I experiment is the following:

    1.-When I connected my HDTV to the HDMI exit of my PC, my TV work....and

    2.-And when in the same PC I connect a monitor to the VGA exit that is "Analog" the screen of my monitor was black......

    3.-Now, what I did was make the connection by the DVI exit trough  a converter "DVI to VGA" and connect my monitor to the VGA end of this converter not the one on the board and work....

    That is why I say that trying to connect two monitor, one by HDMI and the other by VGA isn't compatible...
