Dual Monitor blacks out the second monitor in locked mode

Hi There,

We work in support environment and use dual monitors setup. WIN7 heard to have very good support for such setup and easy to use functionalities. However at some point something which was great has gone troubled.

We can use both the monitors while working on it however just the time its locked it blacks out the second monitor background and screensavers set if any. I tried looking for any config changes but in vain. Looking out for answer to this here.

There is no built in way to change this functionality. **When locked, one screen will be black.**There may be some 3rd party software that may do this however it would not be supported by  Microsoft.

    I think I get what you're saying now. But what you're talking about is 100% 'not' what this thread is about. This thread is about what is shown on secondary monitors when you lock windows. This is not about whether monitors work at all...

    OK let me explain,..... what I experiment is the following:

    1.-When I connected my HDTV to the HDMI exit of my PC, my TV work....and

    2.-And when in the same PC I connect a monitor to the VGA exit that is "Analog" the screen of my monitor was black......

    3.-Now, what I did was make the connection by the DVI exit trough  a converter "DVI to VGA" and connect my monitor to the VGA end of this converter not the one on the board and work....

    That is why I say that trying to connect two monitor, one by HDMI and the other by VGA isn't compatible...

    Could you clarify what you're saying a bit? It isn't clear what you're trying to say. If you're talking about port compatibility ... that's totally not what this thread is about.

    For me is logic that if you will output two connections from the same motherboard and browser they have to be compatible to work... So, my motherboard have a HDMI, VGA and DVI video exits, using the HDMI to connect my HD TV to use it as a extended monitor is logic that I can't use other kind of exit than HD to my primary monitor, now, the other HD exit I got on my motherboard is the DVI exit, so I buy a converter DVI to VGA to connect my primary monitor to the DVI by this converter and everything is OK, at least that is what I was looking for.....
