I know that this is a very old post but I'm having this same problem when updating to windows 10. I can't do anything to fix it because all I have is a black screen. Is there any other way to fix?

Yes, some people are just whining. In particular, they want Microsoft to solve the issue, and as much as I dislike Microsoft due to unfixed issues in their software, it appears in most cases with this issue, the issue is with third party driver software (such as NVIDIA) that is out of Microsoft's control. Also, you're not likely to get nice help from Microsoft if you call them nasty names.

But, I don't read that they "can't find the system and maintenance section" in control panel. Some can't open it, because like me... they just get more errors when they try! Explorer itself is crashing on my system due to this error.

For those people, boot to safe mode! Tap the F8 key repeatedly as your system boots up until you see the safe mode menu, then select "safe mode with networking" with the arrow keys. You can then uninstall/reinstall whatever drivers from safe mode, then try rebooting normally.

As a mac os owner and a windows owner, I am amazed how people expect, no demand an explanation for a problem that has next to infinite root causes.  Spitting out your error message and demanding a solution is like randomly opening a dictionary and yelling that the word you are looking for is not there.

For those complaining that they can't find the system and maintenance section in control panel, how about learning how to use your computer and just type in "problem reports" in the search window when you have control panel open.  That's the little blank box in the upper right corner on most windows 7 systems, disclaimer it may contain peanuts.

For those who can't seem to function because the popup window keeps appearing blocking what they want to click try moving the window.  I know its hard to comprehend that in windows, the windows actually are movable, but try dragging the window to the side out of the way and then go through the process of disabling the problem reports and see what happens.

I came here because I also had the werfault error, and since my hardware config is nothing like any previous posters, I had to search for problem reports, that popup kept showing up in my way, so I moved it to the side, when through the process of disabling the reports and tried again to close the windows. Took too many clicks, but was gone.  Left my laptop sit for a few mins and the werfault is back.  I will continue to research my issue and as many have stated it is extremely likely to be a driver issue, so check for updated drivers.

Best of luck to those who have this issue, and for those that can only spew negativity and distaste for your operating system, take a class, read a book, try anything to better your knowledge of windows or computers instead of demanding others give you answers to questions you may not even comprehend what you are asking/demanding...
