Unable to boot - Safe Mode stops after crcdisk.sys

Hi,

Windows can not be loaded but instead ends up in a boot-loop.Since no option on Window Error Recovery works - you can insert installation DVD given with the system.

Window installation DVD has 'startup repair' option which automatically fixes most of the Hard Disk inaccessibility problems.

This is how to repair:

1. power on
2. insert Window installation DVD
3. off the system.
4. Restart and immediately press F12  several times. 
5. Boot from the DVD(instead of default 'internal HDD') by pressing Enter
6. window files would start loading and thereafter ask for language, country etc

    fill and press Next

7. press the 'Repair' option (not install)
8. System Recovery window opens up.If you find no OS visible then press Next(not 'load driver')
9. next opens with several recovery options with 'startup repair' on top.
10.  press startup repair.

      Repairing may take upto an hour while restarting many times.

11. press Finish
12. Restart

Yes I did "flame" the responder as you call it. And no I didn't look at the date of post. 

Why? Is there a statue of limitations on calling someone out for their self absorbed needs?  if you c/p most of your answer its not going to take much time 

But giving more than 10 different suggestions will overwhelm and confuse the asker. its counter productive. And when you put extra large, bold type at the top that says, "Mark this Most Helpful Answer" it shows very little if any thought went into good intentions but rather to score points. she has since taken it out so maybe what I said worked!

Your not really flaming someone's post from four years ago are you?

The "Most Helpful" bit is voted by other users not the poster. So someone must have liked it the post.

The user who posted that response obviously spent a lot of time on it even if everything in there wasn't perfect.

Sometimes in life it's better to say nothing at all if you can't find something positive to say. :)

Are you nuts? WHY on earth would you give someone 20 things to do as a fix? That's not helpful at all. Plus you didn't read the askers post through because he's already tried at least 3 of the ones you put in there. Talk about overwhelming someone.

Then you have the nerve to put "Most Helpful Reply" in giant letters at the top. Really? Because when you answer a question you're supposed to at least be know what you're talking about instead of throwing everything in, including the kitchen sink!

I see it again and again in this forum. Some of you people think the most important thing is getting  help votes never mind that you really don't know the answer just throw in a bunch and you'll get what you want.

Was able to restart Vista by using vista recovery disk that suggested system restore. Then sfc /scannow run without error.
