Service TrustedInstaller.EXE permanently active taking up to 50% CPU resources

My problem was not as bad as M Herbst's but it was irritating.  I followed your directions Shinmila H and it worked great.  Now when I boot up I can use my machine right away.  Only problem is now I don't know how to install updates.  Can you help me out?

Thank you. Looks like Uninstalling Citrix Zen Receiver fixed it for me.

I've had the same problem for a few weeks now. Also, I was receiving phone calls from foreign strangers claiming to be the "Microsoft Technical Company". How they got my phone number and knew that my "computer is having problems" makes me extremely uncomfortable, on top of the fact that their instructions seemed more likely to get them into my computer, as opposed to helping the actual problem...

They dial phone numbers at random. That's how they got yours.

Besides their getting money from you for doing nothing of any value,
if you let them into your computer, who knows what they did there or
what confidential information they stole.

So if you did, I highly recommend that you do both of the following
immediately:

1. Do a clean reinstallation of Windows.
2. Change all of your passwords, especially any for banks or other
   financial sites.
