Can I delete the system reserved partition from 100MB

Is there a possibility to install windows 7 (clean install) without making a extra (hidden) partition "system reserved" from 100mb?

or how can I delete this partition after install ?

Why is it for?

I have the meaning that this slows down my hard drive a little ?

thanks

Hi Johan G,

Thanks for posting to Getting Ready for Windows 7 .

The 100MB partition is a system partition and contains boot files. Disk Manager will not allow you to remove this partition because removing this partition could cause the system to not boot.

Thanks for posting your question to Getting Ready for Winodws 7 community group.

Regards,

Debbie

I know on some systems (the only prob  with the 100 mb partition / bitlocker) is  it can stop Win7 from installing at all (It happened to me once). It was like it was trying to boot from this partition (after the first reboot). Or something

After the first reboot, no matter what I tried, Win7 wouldnt install. Then, I figured out the cause was this 100 mb partition. And the only way I could fix it, was to make the partitions bigger. So, bitlocker couldnt install at all. And it worked (without the 100 mb partition)

    Two points:

    1. 100MB is a *tiny* amount of disk space these days. It's way under a  penny's worth (S Pennies) .
    2. Having that partition does *not* slow down your hard drive at all.

you can do it using Acronis Disk Director Home English v11.0.2121 my recomend is using bootable version.  , create a Primary partition and set it as active & install on it your OS without asking about 100MB system reserved partition good luck .
